Walk through the grounds of Gladesville Hospital to see the gardens planted to calm troubled minds and the elegant buildings built to reflect the new style mental health treatment pioneered in Sydney by Dr Frederick Manning , the Hospital’s first superintendent. Cost $15 per person. Not really suitable for young children.
Sunday 5 May 1.30 to 3.30 pm Baulkham Hills Rifle Range
Explore the surviving remnants of the Baulkham Hills Rifle Range established in 1909 and used to train soldiers for the First and Second World Wars. Earlier these rugged valleys were perfect hiding places for those who wished to evade the law. Hear these and other stories on this walk in the Rifle Range Creek and Darling Mills Creek valleys. A certain level of fitness is required to participate in this walk. It includes two creek crossings on stepping stones. Cost $15 per person. Children free.
